Το "Epitaph" είναι ένα τραγούδι από την αγγλική progressive rock μπάντα με το όνομα King Crimson. Είναι το τρίτο κατά σειρά τραγούδι που συμπεριλήφθηκε στον πρώτο δίσκο τους με τίτλο "In The Court Of The Crimson King" το 1969.
Το "Epitaph" είναι ένα από τα πιο διαχρονικά τραγούδια. Ο τίτλος του τραγουδιού καθώς και οι στίχοι αναφέρονται στο
μήνυμα που εμφανίζεται πάνω σε μια ταφόπλακα. Σε αυτό το τραγούδι ο
τραγουδιστής προσπαθεί σκληρά και αγωνίζεται καθώς φοβάται πως η σύγχυση θα είναι
ο επιτάφιος του. Ο Greg Lake ο οποίος ήταν ο μπασίστας στον δίσκο των King Crimson με τίτλο “In the Court of The Crimson King“ (και ήταν ο μοναδικός δίσκος που
συμμετείχε αφού άφησε το συγκρότημα για να πάει ύστερα στους Emerson, Lake
& Palmer) εξηγεί: «Το Epitaph είναι βασικά ένα τραγούδι που αναφέρεται στην σύγχυση σχετικά με ένα κόσμο θυμωμένο που τρελαίνεται. Οι King Crimson έχουν μια παράξενη ικανότητα να γράφουν για το μέλλον με
